12 All-Star Super Bowl Specials in San Francisco (2024)

The second-largest food holiday of the year is here — yes, that’s right, it’s time to don some stretchy pants and watch the Super Bowl LV (that would be its 55th year). The Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are kicking off on Sunday, February 7, but even though San Francisco does not have a horse in this race, football fans will be tuning in and local restaurants across the city are firing up the smokers to keep them well-fed. Here are a dozen sports-themed specials, from snacky wings and dips to serious ribs, sausages, and brisket.

Wayfare is going big on wings and dips. A “Super Bowl Party Pack” includes 24 jumbo wings, two full racks of ribs, 10 bacon-wrapped scallops, and a trio of sauces and dips: blue cheese, buffalo, and spinach dip ($100).

Proper Hotel

Jason Fox at the Proper Hotel is pairing wings with pizza. His package includes a bucket of wings (two dozen) and pepperoni pizza made in the woodfire oven, plus co*cktails from Charmaine’s and a six-pack of local craft beer ($90 for two servings).

Che Fico

Che Fico is also serving up wings, pizza, beer, and other provisions. Pick up fried chicken or take-and-bake wings tossed in Diavolo sauce, salami and cheese boards, artichoke dip, ranch dip, and never least, pizza bites.

Causwells, the burger authority, is boxing up burger packs for two or four people. The “Americana” burgers come with patriotic cheese and special sauce, and shish*to peppers, fries, and salad ($48 for two servings, $95 for four servings).

Canela is taking a break from tapas and getting snacky with mini corn dogs. The “Super Bowl Sunday Snack Pack” also kicks in veggies, onion dip, beef chili, chicken salad sliders, and cinnamon-cocoa popcorn ($99 for three servings).

Jane is best known for rustic sourdough, but why not use that bubbly dough to make meatball subs, muffuletta sandwiches, and pretzel dogs? There’s cowboy salad, baked brie, and cute football cookies, too.

The Mission’s resident burgerman has not only mastered the art of the smashburger, but he did in fact grow up in Texas and does not mess around when it comes to competition-winning chili. There are also whole smoked briskets, buckets of hot chicken, 10-packs of smashburgers, and you know you’re going to need some queso.

She might be a Cover Girl, but Ayesha Curry knows and loves good barbecue. She’s got a “Big Game Spread” with barbecue brisket sliders, pulled pork nachos, and duck fat fries, with a trio of sauces ($64.55). Plus, fans can kick in a six-pack of beer or theme co*cktail.

Saison Smokehouse

Michelin-star-dusted Saison Smokehouse is back in action, firing up the smokers for the holiday. In addition to its usual menu of smoked chicken and pastrami brisket (it melts like butter), Saison is also offering chicken wings rolled in yuzu and honey or coconut and chiles, and big-batch co*cktails.

The Guamanian party spot in the Mission is getting ready for game day with a “Chesa (Munchies) Box,” featuring spiced chicharrones and ranch, chicken kelaguen wraps, veggie kimbap “cigars,” ko’ko wings, live-fire barbecue ribs, and that classic red rice ($85 for two servings). They’re also running a contest, so anyone who gets the party pack will be entered to win fun prizes, from empanadas and hoodies to a one-night stay at the Proper Hotel.

La Mar

The Peruvian favorite is rolling out a big empanada party. The empanada sampler packs in four different flavors: stewed chicken, sweet corn, charred mushrooms, and sirloin steak ($199 for 40 empanadas). But for a more rounded meal, there’s a “La Mar at Home” kit with ceviche, chicken empanadas, and braised short ribs ($249 for four to six servings).

The new veggie-ish spot from the Absinthe group has options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. The vegetarian spread includes buffalo cauliflower, pulled mushroom sliders, and smoked sweet potato rolls ($48 for two servings), and you can kick in co*cktails and cupcakes.
