LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon Mountaineers Football and Head Coach Tim Camp are pleased to announce the 2022 schedule! The 2022 campaign will feature five home games, one of which will be a night game, and six road games.

The 2022 schedule features 10 games against Frontier Conference opponents and one non-conference match-up for the Mountaineers. Eastern will have one open weekend that will serve as the team's bye week, which will be Oct. 15. The regular season kicks off Aug. 27 and concludes on Nov. 12. The 2022 NAIA FCS Playoffs are set for Nov. 19-Dec. 17. The 2022 Homecoming Game is still to be determined at this time and will be announced at a later date.

The 2022 season opener will be played under the lights for the Mountaineers and it will be on their home turf. EOU will play host to Montana Tech on Aug. 27 with kickoff set for 6 p.m. PT against the Orediggers. Eastern is 15-18 against Tech since 2000 and is 8-8 at home in that span. The team is 12-11 against the Orediggers under Coach Camp with a 6-5 mark at home.

The next two games for EOU will be on the road, with one being close to home. The Mounties head to Montana Western in week two for a Sept. 3 match-up set for a 1 p.m. MT kickoff. Eastern is 18-11 against UMW since 2002 and 7-7 in that span on the road. Under Coach Camp, EOU boasts a 13-8 record with a 5-5 mark in road contests.

Week three will feature the lone non-conference bout of the regular season for EOU as the team will head to Spokane, Wash. on Sept. 10 to face NCAA Division III foe Whitworth University. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. PT against the Pirates. This will be the first match-up for the two squads in nearly two decades. The two teams last met 17 years ago in 2005 in La Grande with EOU winning the contest, 24-14. In six all-time meetings, the Pirates have a 4-2 edge over the Mounties. This will be the first match-up between the two schools under Coach Camp.

Week four has the Mountaineers back at home on Sept. 17 for a showdown against Carroll College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. PT against the Fighting Saints. EOU is just 9-14 since 2000 against Carroll and has a 4-6 mark in that span. Under Coach Camp, EOU is 9-10 against the Saints and has won seven of the last eight matchups.

The following weekend, Sept. 24, Eastern heads down the road to face Interstate-84 rival College of Idaho in Caldwell. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. MT against the Yotes. Since 2014, C of I is 10-5 against the Mountaineers and has won each of the last six contests. EOU is just 2-5 in true road games against the Yotes.

Eastern will begin the month of October at home in a week six match-up against in-state rival Southern Oregon on Oct. 1. The contest against the Raiders will kickoff at 1 p.m. PT. EOU is 11-19 against Southern since 2000 and owns a 4-11 mark at home in that span. Under Coach Camp, the Mounties are 8-14 against the raiders with a 3-10 mark at home.

Following the week six showdown, EOU is back on the road as they will head North to Montana yet again to face Rocky Mountain College on Oct. 8. Kickoff against the Battlin' Bears will be at 1 p.m. MT. Since 2004, EOU is 16-9 against Rocky and has fared well on the road with a 10-3 mark. Under Coach Camp, Eastern is 11-7 against the Battlin' Bears and 7-2 against them in Billings.

Following the bye week on Oct.15, the Mounties will return home to face Montana State-Northern on Oct. 22. The week nine match-up against the Lights will kickoff at 1 p.m. PT. Eastern is 17-7 against MSU-Northern since 2004 and has won seven of the last eight match-ups. EOU is 15-3 vs. the Lights under Coach Camp and undefeated at home in that span at 8-0.

The final three games of the regular season will be against Frontier Conference opponents EOU has already faced earlier in the season. Eastern will head to Carroll College on Oct. 29 for a week 10 showdown that begins at 1 p.m. MT. EOU is 5-8 on the road against Carroll since 2000, with a 5-4 mark under Coach Camp since 2008.

Week 11 will be the home finale for the Mountaineers as they host I-84 rival College of Idaho on Nov. 5. It will be Senior Day for EOU with kickoff set for 1 p.m. PT. Eastern is 3-5 at home vs. C of I since 2014.

The 2022 regular season finale will be on the road as EOU will travel to Ashland to face Southern Oregon on Nov. 12. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. PT against the Raiders. The Mounties are 7-8in true road games against the Raiders and are 5-4 against them under Coach Camp.

All home games will once again be played at Community Stadium on the campus of Eastern Oregon. All game times are local to each site. Dates and times are tentative and subject to change at any time.
