It's Pancake Tuesday tomorrow, which of course, means pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner - with lashings of maple syrup.

But if you're looking to mix things up a little bit this year, we have found the perfect ingredient that your pancake batter has always been missing: Baileys Irish Cream.

Baileys pancakes recipe

For fluffy American-style pancakes with a taste of Baileys Irish cream, just follow these simple steps.

Ingredients

• Unsalted butter (3 tbsp)

• Salt (3/4 tsp)

• Granulated sugar (2 tbsp)

• 1 large egg

• Milk (2/3 cup/150ml)

• Self-raising flour (125g)

• Baileys Irish Cream (1/3 cup/80ml)

• Butter for cooking in the pan

Method

1. Whisk the butter, sugar, salt and egg in a mixing bowl.

2. Add in milk and baileys until combined.

3. Gradually add flour and stir until almost smooth.

4. Heat butter in nonstick pan until melted over medium-low heat.

5. Scoop out 1/4 cup portion of batter into the pan and spread out into a circle shape.

6. When the bubbles begin to appear on the surface - flip the pancake over and continue cooking for another minute and a half to two minutes.

7. Serve warm with toppings of your choice - we'd recommend a dollop of Nutella
