Every unique Timeless Jewel alters passive tree nodes within its radius, based on its seed and name. Glorious Vanity has the modifier Bathed in the blood of (100-8000) sacrificed in the name of (Ahuana-Doryani-Xibaqua), where (100-8000) is the seed, and (Ahuana-Doryani-Xibaqua) is the name.
The seed determines how notable and small passives in the radius of the jewel will be modified, and the name determines how keystones in the radius will be modified. The seed and the name are independent and do not affect each other e.g. a Glorious Vanity with the seed 2894 will always have the same effect on notables and small passives, regardless of what the name is. As with regular Keystones, each modified Keystone can only affect the player once, even if it is allocated multiple times.

Item acquisition
Timeless Jewel has restrictions on where or how it can drop.
The general way to acquire unique Timeless Jewels is from their respective Legions in the Domain of Timeless Conflict. Players need to place at least 2 emblems from different legions in the map device to open the portal to the area. Read the article about emblems for details.
Non-unique Timeless Jewels do not normally drop. Players can obtain a non-unique craftabe Timeless Jewel by corrupting five unique Timeless Jewels into rares, then selling five corrupted rare Timeless Jewel to a vendor for an uncorrupted rare. Since not every corruption outcome is a rare, players need to vaal, at minimum, five Timeless jewels to use this vendor recipe, or just buy bricked Timeless Jewel from other players.

Timeless Jewel Keystone passives have become a popular feature for many builds, but are prohibitively difficult to acquire (especially without trade). We've moved some of the most build-defining Keystones out of the Timeless Jewels and into the tree itself. These Keystones have been added to the tree: The Agnostic, Glancing Blows, Supreme Ego, Wind Dancer and Eternal Youth.
New keystones have been added to replace the five that are now available on the passive skill tree. The new ones are: The Traitor, Supreme Ostentation, Chainbreaker, Transcendence, Immortal Ambition. Existing Timeless Jewels will retain the old keystones, but if you reroll them with a Divine Orb they will be able to reveal these new keystones.

It's completely randomised. Generic Timeless Jewel 1000 and Generic Timeless Jewel 1001 will be completely different on every node. There are some well known GG jewels, but you will need to dig through google / reddit / forums etc for them. There is no central database for GG seeds yet.
Players can obtain a non-unique Timeless Jewel by corrupting five unique Timeless Jewels into rares, then selling five corrupted rare Timeless Jewel to a vendor for an uncorrupted rare. Since not every corruption outcome is a rare, players need to vaal, at minimum, five Timeless jewels to use this vendor recipe.
The only way to acquire Timeless Jewels is from their respective legions in the Domain of Timeless Conflict. This means using the splinters you find from Legion encounters to form an emblem, and putting them in the map device with at least one other emblem, then defeat as many enemies as possible once inside.
A number of 17 jewels is the finest amount of jewels in a watch movement as it can already be considered fully jeweled. These 17 jewels are spread in several areas from the balance wheel and all the way to the center wheel pivot. Other watch movements also have 21 jewels to reduce positional errors.
Making a skill gem corrupted means using a Vaal Orb on it, which is currency you could be using to trade with other players. Vaal Orbs are for gambling - if there's a particular outcome you want, then you can take a risk if you want to.
Lethal Pride adds +2 or +4 Strength to minor passives. In this aspect all jewels work the same. For example if a minor passive gets augmented with +4 Strength by Lethal Pride, then every other variant of the jewel will also add +4.
The modifier on the Militant Faith Timeless Jewel that grants 1% reduced Cost of Skills per 10 Devotion can no longer roll. Existing items with this modifier have had this replaced with a modifier that grants 1% reduced Mana Cost of Skills per 10 Devotion.
Brutal Restraint adds +2 Dexterity to travel passives (+10 to Dexterity/Intelligence/Strength), +4 Dexterity to all other small passives and adds random modifiers to notable passives. It transforms Keystone passives into exclusive Keystone passives not normally available to the passive skill tree.
If you're looking to farm these quickly, just go kill the High Priest of Ordos up in Ordon Sanctuary (52:29). You don't need the cloak to access. Any max level will one shot these, and the high priests drop 200-300 Timeless Coins each. I full lap around the Sanctuary should yield about 4,500 or so Timeless Coins.
Higher jewel counts typically mirror higher quality, precision and craftsmanship. The use of a steel or brass bearing within a watch movement would lead to higher friction and then use more power from the mainspring, lowering the power reserve and lifetime of the movement.
A higher jewel count in a watch, while not an instant signifier of its prestige or value, does speak to its mechanical complexity and very likely its timekeeping performance.
